GOALS

➜The monitoring and coordination of transnational programs, including the Transnational Integrated Programs for Research and Development Cooperation under Article 75 of Law 3978/2011 (Government Gazette A' 137), on behalf of the Ministry of National Defense.

➜The undertaking and implementation of initiatives for cultivating a domestic ecosystem for the development of innovative technologies, products, processes, or applications that enable their utilization in the field of defense and security, as well as for non-military purposes, particularly those of the Hellenic Coast Guard, the Hellenic Police, and the Fire Service, and generally for civil protection.

➜ The design, development, evaluation, and management of financial and non-financial tools, projects, and related programs to enhance the defense innovation ecosystem, facilitate technology transfer between innovative or start-up companies and defense industries, and promote cooperation with other entities, particularly Higher Education Institutions, Higher Military Educational Institutions, Armed Forces academies, and research centers.

➜ The support of the Armed Forces in all matters related to the provision of research and development services on issues of operational interest, in tools and services that facilitate technical dialogue with the domestic defense industry, as well as in all matters concerning the implementation, promotion, and funding of research and development programs.

Development of Dual-Use Technologies

  • Promotion of research and development of technologies with applications in both the defense and civilian sectors.
  • Support for the creation of innovative products and services that can be used in various sectors of the economy.

Collaboration with Industry and the Academic Sector

  • Strengthening collaboration with Greek industries, technology companies, and academic institutions.
  • Creation of strategic partnerships with international bodies and organizations to promote dual-use innovation.

Education and Training

  • Provision of training and education for Armed Forces personnel and industry professionals on new technologies and innovative dual-use practices.
  • Promotion of knowledge exchange and best practices through seminars, workshops, and conferences.

Support for Start-Ups and Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises

  • Creation of a favorable environment for the development of innovative start-ups and small and medium-sized enterprises with dual-use technologies.
  • Provision of funding, advisory services, and access to networks and resources for new businesses.

Strengthening National Security and Economic Development

  • Support for the Armed Forces and political entities with technological solutions that enhance their operational readiness and effectiveness.
  • Development of strategies that enhance the economic growth and competitiveness of the country through innovation.

Promotion of Research and Innovation

  • Strengthening research activity in dual-use technologies through collaborations with academic and research institutions.
  • Creation and support of research programs that promote technological innovation and have multiple applications.
